Rob Pattinson, Papz, and "Fans"

This week it has not been a good week for our golden boy Rob Pattinson.

When he got up early Monday morning to go to work, I can bet that he was excited to go on set. He has declared several times on interviews how much he likes his job, even though that job brings many consequences (crazy psychos for example) he still likes to get on set, put on whatever costume his character demands and get into action.

Did he, (or any of us) had any idea how significant that day was going to be? I'll bet he didn't. Did he have an inclination that not only paparazzis were going to be there, taking the best shots they could get, but also fans swooning after every step he takes, every smile he makes, or even every touch of his precious locks? Yeah, I think he had an idea. But what was taking by complete surprise (and made news everywhere) was what happened later that day.

Based on the pictures that were tweeted earlier that day, everything started fine, just only a few fans on location, Rob showing off his precious smile as he shoots his scene with his co-stars or as he walks around chewing a very lucky straw, with a cup of coffee on his hand while holding a ciggie on the other. Then, as some reports say, all of the sudden they call for lunch and hell breaks loose.

RPattz was lacking security that day, and some fans took advantage of that little detail and charged like a horde of mad cows after the guy. How many fans went to harass him? Exact numbers weren't said. But four girls (which I hope someone called the psychiatric ward to let them know four of their patients escaped) made headlines. Rob got a full hands-on choke by one of them, while her friends tried to get around his bodyguards so they can snap the pictures, or by following their mentally challenged wrestler wanna-be and hug him as well. Right then, Rob's "bodyguards" woke up (finally) and pulled those maniacs away from him and hurried him to his trailer.

What was Rob's reaction? Unbelievably he was smiling the whole time...(this guy is way too charming for his own good). Does that mean he was enjoying the madness? Hell no! According to some witnesses, he was completely freaked out...(you have to remember he is SHY and hates that type of attention) He only smiled the ONE shot for that crazy "fan’s benefit. But you can see in another picture how frustrated he was when he grabbed the top of his head with both hands.

Reactions to this kind of madness went wild throughout the rest of Rob's REAL fans demanding RESPECT for his personal space. What those girls did was completely appalling, everyone knows that..(well, everyone with their correct five senses should know it)...so more security for our golden boy was taken place.

For the next two days, security was beefed up...(I have never seen so much security on one person that was not a politician). Based on some pictures published by many internet media, he had five bodyguards walking around with him while holding an umbrella, while the NYPD protected the set from potential fan-attackers. Obviously when the rest of Rob's fans read this piece of information, were relieved (me included) that he was better protected but still questioning why Summit Entertainment didn't do this from day one? Or why were those guards not doing their job right by letting Rob be at a grab-able distance? That concern still lingered on the air, but I think some just didn't want to think about it too much and just let it go. We were just glad he had more protection so that the incident of Monday was not going to happen again. Boy were we WRONG!

Today, Thursday June 18th, was reported by RadarOnline that Rob was hit by a cab. (watch MSN Video Here) As you can understand the immediate reaction was shock and complete concern. After reading what caused the incident, the shock and concern was converted to complete rage. As you watched or read the news, Rob is FINE! He is not harmed, which is GOOD! But does that mean that everyone who admires him and looks out of his safety aren’t mad anymore? Of course NOT!

According to Ted Casablanca's post about the incident, Summit sources declared that what happened to Rob was blown out of proportion and that no bigger plans are in order.

Now, I ask the question; What will it take for the executives of Summit Entertainment, for SOME of the fans, or the very gracious and delightful (extremely heavy sarcasm) of paparazzi that the safety of a TOP celebrity is a major concern? Should I even go to the extremes and mention the late Princess Diana? Does anyone remember what happened there? Remember what caused the accident that resulted her death? I don't know if I should compare Rob to royalty, but his popularity seems to be going to those extends.

Obviously I don't want to go there because to even THINK that something close could ever happen to Rob Pattz is horrendous. But when I read those executives saying that they'll take action as the events "unfolds", it leads me to believe that they are waiting for something of to that magnitude (or close to it) to actually WAKE UP and REALLY protect their money-making star. Why go to the extremes? Why wait until something big happens for them to take action?

All news related to what happened to Rob today are declaring that fans were the cause of the incident. According to a witness account that wasn't the case.

Whether it was an uncontrollable fan, or a greedy vicious paparazzi that almost caused for RPattz to be seriously injured today, I think this a really good wake-up call...it was a tiny one, but a good one.

So please try to remember that Rob Pattinson is person, another gorgeous (very talented, and charming) guy who wants to work, eat, drink, in peace. If this type of behavior continues, you will be making his worst nightmare come true; Getting killed by someone crazy in a middle of a huge crowd.....(all this time I thought he was being paranoid, who knew he would be right about certain people).

  2. You're absolutely right!!
He's not only a body, a piece of meat. He's absolutely not the character he enbodies. He's a man, a person, who needs space to breathe.
I CAN'T really understand these psychopath-girls! Hurting him just to have a piece of "Edward Cullen".
    Crazy, insane..awful.

Let him live. It's the only gift we can truly give him!
    FREEDOM
